Bells Appeal
We raised £105,000 to install a new bell frame and develop a heritage centre at the church.
We had to keep the old oak bell-frame in place because of its historic interest, so the bells were rehung on a new metal frame lower in the tower.
We now have an area in the church where village history is available for all to see. A team of people has been formed to research, collect and collate information about the village, past and present. If you have any information, however small, relating to Clopton or its inhabitants please contact us. We would love to see you at one of our meetings. Regular exhibitions will be held in the church.
The money raised paid for a new bell-frame, refurbishing and tuning the bells, building work and setting up the Heritage area.
